About Us

"The Partners in Africa ministry established at St. Paul, Minnesota in 2003. The outreach began with the formation of a Board in 2004 and the Partners in Africa ministry, Incorporated as a 501(c)-(3) non-profit organization in June 2004."

Our Mission
The purpose of PIA is to promote and facilitate partnerships that will share the Good News of Jesus Christ through church planting, empowerment, and strategic community development so that even the most neglected people in Africa can live in relationship with God and their neighbors.

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
Matthew 28:18-20

He that gathered much did not have too much, and he that gathered little did not have too little.
II Corinthians 8:15

The Need

  • Jesus commanded his followers to “go make disciples of every tribe, tongue and nation.”
  • Many unreached people groups have never heard the Good News of Jesus Christ.
  • Africa has been ravaged by war, famine, and disease for decades.
  • Many people in Africa have little hope, little power and little voice.*
  • Eight out of every ten dollars given by Christians are in the hands of American Christians.
  • 87% of US money given by Christians is spent inside the walls of the church.
  • 12% is spent on telling the Gospel where it has been told and 1% on missions.
  • Only .05% is spent on the 10/40 window, where 1.5 billion people have yet to hear the Gospel for the first time.
Goals & Objectives
  • To open up mission fields that are closed to individual churches and groups.
  • To increase ownership of both Western and indigenous churches whereby Western churches become more than “sending” and African churches become more than “receiving” churches, providing each with the opportunity to fulfill their purpose within the body of Christ.
  • To assist the African local churches in reaching their neighbors who have never heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ by sending indigenous missionaries to unreached people groups.
  • To promote and facilitate church planting, education, health care, sustenance and work opportunity.

    Our Strategy
Partnership in the body of Christ is our strategy. PIA matches individuals, groups, and churches in the United States with specific projects, groups, and churches in Africa. Our partner relationships with Western and indigenous African churches provide necessary and meaningful opportunites among unreached peoples.

Unreached people - An ethno linguistic people among whom there is no viable indigenous community of believing Christians with adequate numbers and resources to evangelize their own people without outside (cross cultural) assistance.

10/40 window - core of the world's unreached people that live in a window that extends from West Africa to East Asia from a latitude 10 degrees north to 40 degrees north of the equator, a region that encompasses nearly three billion people including most of the world's Muslims, Hindus, and Buddhists.

        Statement of Faith

    We believe

...in the Holy Scriptures as originally given by God, divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy; and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct...

One God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit...

Our Lord Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, His virgin birth, His sinless human life, His divine miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, His mediatorial work, and His Personal return in power and glory...

The Salvation of lost and sinful man through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ by faith apart from works, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit...

The Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to live a holy life, to witness and work for the Lord Jesus Christ...

The Unity of the Spirit of all true believers, the Church, the Body of Christ...

The Resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
